The competition will take place on the weekend of 1-2 June at Virgin Active in Falmer, the venue is close to Falmer Station and  the Amex Stadium with plenty of buses running close by

Getting to the Venue

Brighton is well served by buses and Rail

By train
There is generally a regular train service between Brighton and Falmer Station with a 10 minute journey time, Virgin Active is just over 5 mins. walk from Falmer Station.

However there is a replacement bus service operating on Sunday (not Saturday as previously advised). Those planning to come by train are advised to allow an extra 30 minutes for the journey

We can arrange a meet and greet at Brighton train station on the Saturday subject to demand

It will be necessary to know in advance how many would like to meet there


By Bus
Brighton is well served by buses with the number 23, 25, 28 and 29 buses stopping near to Falmer Station, buses take about 20-25 minutes from the City Centre

The nearest bus stops are Sports Centre for the 25 or 23 or Falmer Station  for 28 or 29

Buses from the City Centre go regularly from The Old Steine,  bus stop F, this is one of the stops in front of the Royal Pavilion.  The No. 25 or 25X bus alight at Sports Centre on the University of Sussex campus which is a 10 minute walk from Virgin Active

Walking from bus stop via train station

When getting off bus at Sports Centre

Turn right (direction of bus)
Follow road to Zebra Crossing
After crossing follow path (with cycle track) to underpass and then to Falmer Station

When arriving at the station, on your right there is a footbridge which takes you across the tracks, it has 5 sets of stairs with railings between them, each contain 4 sets of 8 steps.

At the top of the steps turn left and, after crossing the railway, sharp left again

Go down any of the ramps then veer right and turn right again onto a wide footpath

After about 200 metres take the first turning on the left onto a footpath to Virgin Active

Just before you get to the car park there is a narrow path to a gate which is generally open

Turn to your left and follow the path round the building there is a zebra crossing just outside the building entrance


By Taxis
Virgin Active is over 4 miles from Brighton City Centre, a fare to or from there is likely to be at least 17 most taxis can take 6 - 8 passengers so ask for the number of seats required

By Road

There is plenty of car parking spaces available at the venue

If travelling to Brighton by car you might find it worth looking at locations out of town which may be cheaper and have better parking facilities

There is an open guest Wifi for Virgin Active, this may require registering


Should you wish to keep items securely at the venue you will need to bring a padlock to use on  the lockers located in the changing rooms

Toilets including accessible toilets are located in the changing rooms are next to the cafe

Fire Exits

In the event of fire, exits are located next to the courts, at the entrance to  the venue or by the side of the cafe or gym, meeting point is in the main car park in front of the main entrance
